"Towellers," or how to hide your racism behind political correctitude

Towelheads.

Towellers.

People of the Towel.

This site is pretty free in using these supposedly disparaging terms when referring to our Muslim friends and neighbors and enemies.

Contrast that to something like this.

I like George Jonas. He used to race motorcycles. I hope he still does.

You will note that his piece in the National Post does not stoop to any of the "racist" language foregrounded above.

Yet the article is a sterling example of anti-Arab racism. What he is saying is "Towelheads just love to hate Jews," period. It is a gratuitous piece of anti-Arab hate propaganda and nothing more.

The use or non-use of the much-feared n-word is a telling example of this phenomenon too. You can make the most outrageous slanders about black culture in America, but as long as you're not using the n-word, you can get a pass from the white-stream media.

Fuck that.
