STPD head lashes out at critics

Anwar Salim, President of the Society To Prevent Death lambasted his critics in a terse news release today. A partial reproduction of Salim's rebuttal is presented here:

We at STPD are dismayed at the reaction to our proposal. It is beyond debate that mandatory helmet laws will save tens of thousands of American lives every year, and prevent hundreds of thousands of debilitating brain injuries. These people who claim we are infringing on individual rights are living in the past. These are the same tired arguments that were trotted out against mandatory seat-belt laws, motorcycle helmet laws, and gun control laws. Liberty can never be more important than live, because when you're dead, you'll wish you'd worn a helmet.
